In it together – Tandem Bike Ride John O’Groats to Lands’ End - 30th August - 8th September 2024

Charlie Dixon (Dad to two children with DHDDS) is teaming up with friends and family to ride 960 miles from John O’Groats to Lands’ End on a tandem bike from August 30th to September 8th.

His cycling is normally limited to a trip round the park on a Saturday with Tom, plus throw in the fact that he will be heading into prevailing wind, this will be his biggest challenge yet.

He chose to ride a tandem to reflect the teamwork that is going to be required to research and ultimately find a cure for DHDDS.

Charlie will be captain (front rider) of the tandem the whole journey, but he will accompanied by several different stokers (second rider). There are many others who will be riding their own bikes for part of the journey, and anyone is very welcome to join.

This is the intended route and stops along the way if you fancy coming along:

After our incredibly successful walk along the Thames last year, it is the kids turn this year.

Families with children of all ages will be walking the 9-mile Wandle Trail from Carshalton Ponds to the Thames in Wandsworth following the river Wandle itself, a tributary of the Thames.
